My grandma was always so happy to see my new designs. I always brought them in to show her while I was finalizing a new one to get her opinion (she always said positive things). She passed in January 2020, and my 2019 Aurora Nights patterns were the last series she was able to critique. She had trouble talking the last year she was with us, and in those last few she also got much more honest about her opinions on things. When I showed her the Aurora Nights group she managed to tell me one thing, "That doesn't look like a polar bear." LOL She really liked polar bears, so when I made this one I was thinking of her the whole time. Hopefully she would have approved of this guy and that it looks like a proper polar bear.

Alaskan Arctic: Polar Bear uses Hoffman California Fabrics batiks. This pattern can be made as an individual pattern as shown above, or combined with the other five Alaskan Arctic patterns to make the combination quilt shown below.
