Return to the Wild: Loon was a remake of my Day at the Lake design from 2013. Loons are a popular bird up here in Alaska, and can often be found calmly swimming in one of our over 3 million lakes. Unlike anywhere else in North America, Alaska is a crucial habitat for all five of the world's loon species (Common, Pacific, Red-Throated, Yellow-billed and Arctic). The common loon pictured here is out for a leisurely swim while her afternoon snack swims gently below.

Return to the Wild: Loon uses batiks from my 2021 Return to the Wild Signature Batik Collection with Hoffman California Fabrics. This pattern can be made as an individual pattern as shown above, or combined with the other five Return to the Wild patterns to make the various other combination quilts as shown below.
