My husband and I took our kids to Homer a few years ago and went beachcombing. We often spot a starfish here or there, but on that particular trip we found dozens of them along the shoreline. My daugher loved it and collected a bunch to 'set free' back into the water. The starfish we find there are the standard 5-legged sort and are usually purple to pink in color. This design is a combination of our Homer excursion and my experiences beachcombing on the west coast of Oregon or the sandy beaches of Hawaii.
